Burnley recorded a 6 out of 12 and has more hope of an extended stay in the Premier League. They drew 1-1 against Wolverhampton last night. There was more to it. Does Vincent Kompany still believe in conservation?

Burnley took a point against Wolves

Burnley could have won against Wolves. They were the better team and had the best chances. “I think it was just one of those days in front of goal but I thought we looked like a Premier League team. OK, it didn’t get us further up the table but we’ve got a point and we’re going through to the next match,” Kompany said via club channels.

Burnley is still penultimate. They will have to put in a very good run in the next 7 games to avoid relegation to the Championship.

Retention in the Premier League

“We are where we belong, but I’m pretty sure this is a team that can still improve. I think you could see that against Wolves. We haven’t earned the right to stay in the Premier League yet and We just have to keep fighting for it.”

Kompany continues to believe in conservation. “It is not surprising where we are now, but it is now just about the next match for us. But what I can guarantee you is that we will fight until the very last moment of the season,” said the former manager of RSC Anderlecht.
