Anderlecht can certainly no longer hide its title ambitions. After the opening match day, they completely eliminated the deficit to Union SG. And next week they have to go to Jan Breydel, where there are also opportunities…

Anderlecht were not good in the first half until Thorgan Hazard showed a red card to Owen Wijndal. “For me, Antwerp has defeated itself. Because if the Great Old remains with eleven, it will never lose,” says Philippe Albert at the RTBF.

“The exclusion of Wijndal ensured that RSCA started these play-offs with a victory. Thorgan Hazard played well… even though I think the crash was exaggerated. The Mauves improved in the second half, but we saw that they had difficulty raising their level.”

But in the play-offs it’s all about the marbles and not much will stick around from that poor first half. “Now they have to aim for the title, no more discussions. 7 years without a trophy would be another failure.”

Next week the top match in Jan Breydel is on the program and the Purple & White can deliver a new blow. Although it remains to be seen what face Club Brugge will show. After all, it was also variable against Cercle.

“If Brugge shows the same face as in the first half against Cercle, it has no chance. However, if it is the same as in the second half, it can beat anyone…”, concludes Albert.
