For Club Brugge, the adventure in the Champions’ Play-off starts on Easter Monday with a Bruges derby against Cercle Brugge. And so they want to work hard at Blue-Black to aim as high as possible.

Club Brugge’s ambitions are clear, also for Maxim De Cuyper. The 23-year-old defender of blue and black still wants to aim as high as possible, but realizes that it will be very difficult to dream of the Champions League.

“For places one and two, a small miracle is needed. Because we have been so inconsistent this season, it is important to show consistency in the play-offs. Who knows…”, says De Cuyper The newspapaer.

“In the meantime, we want to go far in the Conference League. If a Belgian team ever wants to win it, then this is the time. The draw could not have been more favorable.”

Union champion according to De Cuyper

According to De Cuyper, it is Club Brugge that individually has the strongest core of all Belgian teams. Yet he no longer sees blue-black as title candidate number 1.

“Union becomes champion,” De Cuyper indicates. “They were the most difficult team we played against.” The coming weeks will reveal whether De Cuyper is right, as well as where Blue-Black itself can still end up.
