KV Kortrijk wins six-point match against Charleroi and remains undefeated in 2024 | Jupiler Pro League

--

Match reportFreyr Alexandersson has once again turned KV Kortrijk into an attractive team. KVK defeated Charerloi 1-0 and takes 8 out of 12 under the Icelandic coach. The West Flemish remain last, but the world suddenly looks completely different in the Guldenspoorstadion.

After a 5 out of 9, KV Kortrijk wanted to keep the three points at home against Charleroi. To successfully complete that mission, KVK coach Freyr Alexandersson chose the expected eleven names. At Charleroi, Mbenza came into the team at the expense of Bernier. The match went back and forth in the opening phase. Both teams created a few half-chances, but there was no real goal danger.

It wasn’t until minute 28 that we were able to create a huge opportunity. Kadri painted a corner on Sissako’s head. The Frenchman was completely forgotten at the far post, but nodded incomprehensibly wide. Kortrijk gradually became the better team and took the deserved lead just before half time. It was Davies who fired his fifth of the season past Patron into goal. The Golden Spurs Stadium exploded.

After the break, the home team had everything under control and Charleroi was no longer dangerous – until the final phase. Substitutes Benbouali and Stulic missed the equalizer. Nevertheless, the Zebras – once again – performed extremely poorly. Kortrijk takes 8 out of 12 in 2024 and is no longer a bird of prey – on the contrary. Charleroi is back in the relegation zone due to OH Leuven’s victory and RWDM’s draw.
