Thanks to two goals from Joselu, Real Madrid defeated mid-table Getafe 0-2. ‘De Koninklijke’ jumps over Girona to the lead in La Liga. But for Jude Bellingham (20) the match could turn nasty. Video footage shows him sneering ‘rapist’ after a match in which he tackled his English compatriot Mason Greenwood (22).

Getafe certainly does not want to leave it at that, after the clip in question quickly went viral. Not that they want to file a complaint against Bellingham, but they have asked referee Burgos Bengoetxea to include the swear word in his report. The present ‘match delegate’ from La Liga was also asked to view the images, the Spanish medium Cadena SER reports.
Greenwood is currently on loan at Getafe after Manchester United decided it was best for the striker to continue his career abroad. Greenwood was arrested in January 2022 on suspicion of rape, among other things. A complaint that was dismissed by the Supreme Court in February of last year. However, United did not immediately like the return of the attacker, so they headed to Spain. He quickly secured a starting spot at Getafe and currently has six goals and four assists in La Liga and the Copa.
But the fact that Greenwood’s reputation has been damaged became clear in the duel with his English compatriot Jude Bellingham. When he launched a strong tackle on Greenwood, you see him snap ‘rapist’. Although it will be difficult to really prove that, especially when – as in the clip – the sound is missing. The chance that the ex-Borussia Dortmund player will be suspended by the Spanish national public prosecutor’s office therefore seems rather small. The Bellingham camp refuses to respond to the phase for the time being.
Greenwood played the entire match against Real, but could not distinguish himself. Only with a shot soon after the break did he come close. The pole was his share. Furthermore, Real Madrid were masters, especially in the first half when they deservedly took the lead after 14 minutes. Joselu headed Vázquez’s cross past Getafe goalie Soria. Even after the break, Modric and co were the better team. Just before the hour mark, Joselu scored his second goal of the evening beautifully.
Thanks to this victory, Real once again takes the lead from Girona. Next weekend they will take on city rivals Atlético.

0-2 GOAL by Joselu!
Joselu cleverly kicks the 0-2 past Soria into the goal. His second goal of the evening. Are the books allowed or can Getafe still turn the tide?
Greenwood on the post!
Finally Getafe. Greenwood (ex-Manchester United) comes in from his right flank and lashes out with his left. Real escapes, as his shot hits the post.
Domingos Duarte is replaced by Juanmi Latasa
Dakonam Djene is replaced by Diego Rico
Antonio Rudiger is replaced by Eduardo Camavinga
Second half kicked off

It’s a wonder it’s only 0-1. Getafe is nowhere at all, but fortunately Soria is playing a great game. The goalkeeper goes flat on a shot from Joselu.
Yellow card for Ferland Mendy
Place ball Modric
Modric takes a swing, but his attempt ends up over Soria’s cage. Real is lord and master. A second goal is therefore in the air.
Yellow card for Dakonam Djene
