Lotte Kopecky was put in the spotlight during the Six Days of Ghent. Shari Bossuyt should also have been there, but is currently inactive due to a positive doping test.
Shari Bossuyt (23) has been inactive since the beginning of June this year after a positive doping test in March. After her stage victory in the third stage of the Tour of Normandy, Bossuyt tested positive for letrozole metabolite.
That is the same thing for which Toon Aerts is currently serving a two-year suspension. Just like with Aerts, there was a minimal amount of the product in her blood, the values were even lower than with Aerts.
“I have no idea how the product got into my body,” she says Sports weekend. “‘Why me’, I have often thought. Sometimes I also curse that I won that stage in the Tour of Normandy. Otherwise I would not have had to go to the doping control.”
Part-time job
Bossuyt was put on hold by her Canyon//SRAM team, which also means that the money tap has been turned off. “In the beginning you may have some surplus, but a solution has to be found quickly. I started working part-time in the marketing department of a local truck garage.”
