Romelu Lukaku’s 4 goals were actually not the most striking item of the press conference after Belgium-Azerbaijan.
Giovanni de Biasi, national coach of the Azeris, got very excited towards the journalists from Azerbaijan.
“I have never seen such stupid journalists. We have done better than expected in this campaign. You just do not want to understand that you cannot beat a Ferrari or a Red Bull with a Fiat 500,” were the strong words of the Italian.
“I already said on Saturday that it would be a difficult match, against a team that has won almost all its matches,” the visiting coach continued.
“Belgium has a strong team, we had to be reactive, but we couldn’t perform the way we played at home against them, Austria and Sweden. Then we played very intelligently every time. Here it became a very difficult match with that goal conceded and the exclusion after 24 minutes.”
His contract expires at the end of this month and an extension is not imminent. However, Azerbaijan did well in the qualifications with 7 points.
