Derby day for Romelu Lukaku in Serie A. AS Roma crossed swords with Lazio. For Lukaku it was his first Roman derby. He started in the starting line-up and played all ninety minutes.

The city duel started fieryly. Both teams exchanged chances and the supporters got behind their team, with some fireworks here and there. It was also crackling between the two teams. The referee had to calm things down regularly. The many yellow cards were the result. Romelu Lukaku also got one.

Other than that it remained a derby without great opportunities. However, Roma seemed to have made an excellent start. After ten minutes, Cristante’s shot flew in, but the opening goal was disallowed for offside. Afterwards it remained quiet on both sides, except for a beautiful shot from Luis Alberto. His shot exploded onto the crossbar. Lukaku remained invisible during the first half.

During the second half, AS Roma seemed to take control of the derby. A rush from Lukaku and a chance from Dybala were examples of this, but neither team was able to create a big chance. A Roman derby without a winner and without goals.
