Dender has done his duty against Club NXT.
They won 2-0 at home against the youngsters from Club Brugge. A victory that was largely due to Ali Akman.
The Turkish youth international, who was loaned from Eintracht Frankfurt this summer, was allowed to come on for the unfortunate Olivier Myny after eight minutes and immediately thanked his coach Timmy Simons for the trust.
On the half hour he scored his first goal for Dender (see above). He immediately got the hang of it, because a few minutes after half-time he was allowed to celebrate again when his shot deflected into the goal: 2-0.
Bruny Nsimba missed a penalty in the 71st minute and thus failed to further expand the lead, but Club NXT was no longer able to threaten itself after that.
Dender will enjoy the lead in the rankings, together with Beerschot, Lommel and Zulte Waregem, who still have to play this weekend. Club NXT follows in eighth position with sixteen points.
At the same time tonight, Standard’s U23 defeated its Genk peers 3-1.
