“Magic.” If Zinedine Zidane (51) had to describe Lionel Messi (36) in one word, it would be that. The Frenchman and the Argentinian were recently invited by Adidas to talk and the mutual respect between the legends is clearly great.
LOOK. Zidane Messi in one word? “Magic”
Zidane and Messi have a lot in common – golden feet, an overflowing trophy cabinet and the jersey number 10. At the same time, one is forever linked to Real Madrid and the other to arch-rival FC Barcelona. But there was no animosity during their meeting.
For example, Zidane was asked to describe his conversation partner in a few words. “I only need one word for that: magic. We don’t speak often, so this is an important day for me because I can finally tell him that I admire him. Anyone who loves football loves Lionel Messi. Too bad we never got to play together.”
Messi, in turn, also eagerly showered compliments. “There were some clashes when you were a coach and I was a player, but I have always respected and admired you. For everything you have shown on the field and off it to this day. For me, Zidane is one of the best players ever. Not because he’s sitting with me now – I’ve said that before.”
Some users of X (formerly Twitter) also highlight the first images of the video. It shows Yassine Cheuko, the personal bodyguard who has been following Messi everywhere for months. Also to a conversation with Zidane, that is. “That man is really everywhere,” is one of the words.
