After the official departure of Jean Kindermans, the ‘RSCA Academy’ will from now on be led by three people, including Peter Verbeke.
A striking move by Anderlecht, which had ended its collaboration with Verbeke in January of this year. He had been absent for a while due to illness and in the meantime the club had appointed the Dane Jesper Fredberg as the new CEO. It turned out that another position for Verbeke was not possible at that time.
“The discussions were conducted with mutual respect and constructively, but did not result in an agreement on further cooperation,” Fredberg said at the time.
Since March, Verbeke has been working at Double Pass, a Belgian company that helps clubs and federations develop young talent.
Now the former CEO can prepare for a role as head of talent and innovation. “He built up important expertise in detecting and recruiting young talent at KAA Gent and Club Brugge,” it now reads.
Together with Mikkel Hemmersam – who has been working at Anderlecht since June – and the recently transferred Henk Mariman, he must form a trio that offers young talents a great future in football.
