This concerns 7 (former) players at a lower level, affiliated with the French-speaking tennis federation.
The name Arthur De Greef sounds most familiar. He was still part of the Belgian men’s team and reached his highest ranking in 2017. De Greef could then call himself number 113 in the world.
In addition to De Greef, Arnaud Graisse, Julien Dubail, Romain Barbosa, Maxime Authom, Omar Salman and Alec Witmeu have also been convicted.
They had all already pleaded guilty in the Oudenaarde court. The Belgian tennis players falsified matches and set scores in exchange for money.
Earlier this year, 28 people were convicted in the case for, among other things, criminal organization, fraud, money laundering, participation in influenced gambling, forgery and computer forgery.
