Radja Nainggolan has been looking for a new club for months, but that search has been extremely difficult. The experienced midfielder wants to take on one last challenge. Will he choose a surprising destination?
Radja Nainggolan is an ambassador for the U17 World Cup that will soon take place in Indonesia. That is no coincidence, because the midfielder has Indonesian roots. Local media immediately linked the ex-Red Devil to a transfer.
Indonesian transfer for Nainggolan?
For example, Borneo FC, Persib Bandung, Bhayangkara FC and Bali United are linked to Nainggolan. The player has been on the decline for years, but playing in Indonesia might bring him full circle. Of course, this must also be offset financially.
Nainggolan would probably be welcomed as a hero and be the big star in the competition. The 30-time Red Devil is 35 years old and has already had a very nice career. He played for the youth of Beerschot and through there he moved to the Italian Piacenza.
He had great years in Italy, including spells at Cagliari, AS Roma, Inter and back at Cagliari. In 2021 he moved to Royal Antwerp FC. However, after a solid first season, things went wrong between the club and Nainggolan and he left for SPAL for free.
He has been a free agent since last summer.
