- 9:40 PM. Immediately a hit in the first group match. Historically, coach Kris Vansnick did not want to mention the Champions League qualification yet. He wants to make history with Asterix Avo from tomorrow. “To really speak of historic achievements, we have to win a group match,” he says. That will not be an easy task, because a big blow awaits in the first group match. Conegliano is the Italian champion and won the champions ball 2 years ago. “The first confrontation will be against an absolute star team. The advantage we have: everyone knows those players. It is a dream to be able to play against them.” Yet Vansnick does not consider his team without a chance. “We have developed our own style of playing. We have to continue to build on that. I am not saying that we can beat Conegliano, but we do want to show our own game.” .
