Would you like to bring Marrakech into your home? It’s possible thanks to the Bodé brothers. For three months they will keep a pop-up open in an empty shop in Vlaanderstraat, filled with Moroccan gems such as carpets, pouffes and pottery.
Could your interior use some color and warmth? Then the pop-up shop of Nicolas and Martin Bodé near the South is where you should be. There are colorful pouffes, colorful slippers, kimonos, handmade pottery, carpets, cushions, glasses and wooden shelves that the brothers themselves selected in Morocco.
Nicolas lived there for 15 years and worked as an architect. Today he still runs a Riad in Marrakesh, Kbour & Chou, so he regularly returns there. Martin often comes along to buy new stuff for their webshop with ‘all the best of Morocco for your home’, DarBodé. (Read more below the photos)
Every now and then the brothers also organize a pop-up in Ghent to give customers the opportunity to see the items up close and feel them before purchasing. They have already been in Burgstraat twice, once in Hoornstraat, and in the next three months they will take over an empty shop in Vlaanderstraat.
Until January 27, you can come here from Tuesday to Saturday (from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) to lose your heart in the beautiful things. Who knows, maybe it will inspire you to take a trip to Morocco? In that case, Nicolas already knows a good place where you can stay.
