Novak Djokovic (ATP 1) won the final with two sets against Grigor Dimitrov (ATP 17). Djokovic broke through the Bulgarian’s serve at 3-3 in the first set. In the second set, the Serb stole his opponent’s service game at 2-2, only to repeat that again at 5-3. The match lasted 1 hour and 39 minutes.
Dimitrov clearly expected more from his final. Because after the match he started sobbing into a towel on his bench. Djokovic was giving an on-court interview at the time. Until he saw his opponent’s tears. Djokovic interrupted the interview and approached Dimitrov for a comforting hug.

Dimitrov won eight ATP tournaments in his career. The last overall victory dates back to 2017. Then he defeated David Goffin in the final of the ATP Finals.
