AS Roma won 2-1 against Lecce thanks to a crazy final phase with two goals in injury time. The big hero was Romelu Lukaku who scored the winning goal in the 94th minute. The Red Devil corrected his early miss, because after five minutes he missed a unique opportunity to give AS Roma the lead. The Red Devil was allowed to build from the spot, but kicked within reach of goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone.
It was only the sixth penalty miss for Lukaku. The previous one dated more than six years ago, on August 26, 2017, with Manchester United against Leicester, where current Anderlecht goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel was in goal.
Lukaku can convert 36 penalties against 6 missed penalties. An excellent balance, but it was not stepped well enough.
After 72 minutes, AS Roma fell behind and a drama seemed to be in the making. After ninety minutes of football, the score was still 0-1.
But that was not counted in the crazy final phase: Azmoun equalized in the 91st minute and Romelu Lukaku crowned himself the great hero by correcting his penalty miss in the 94th minute and scoring the winning goal.
