KV Mechelen is looking for a new trainer. The Maneblussers want according to Gazette of Antwerp an experienced coach who knows the Belgian competition well. In addition, departed head coach Steven Defour can still return to the club, albeit in a different role.
T1: Hollerbach, Brys or Leko?
Malinwa wants to appoint a performance-oriented trainer who knows the Belgian competition well. The names of Bernd Hollerbach, Marc Brys and Ivan Leko are already circulating. The former in particular can dream of the job of coach of KVM. The German has been on the shortlist of KV Mechelen for some time.
It certainly won’t be Bob Peeters (Helmond Sport). However, the Belgian coach would not be an option to succeed Steven Defour as trainer. That name may therefore be deleted.
Defour back to KV Mechelen?
A return of Steven Defour to KVM is also on the agenda, albeit in a role other than head coach. The club parted ways with Defour by mutual agreement, but he remains a regular at home Achter de Kazerne.
Gazette of Antwerp reports that the club does not want to simply put such a person aside. Defour wants to take a break from football for a while, but according to the newspaper the door will always remain open for him in Mechelen.
KV Mechelen would even consider offering Defour another role within the club in the near future. It is not yet known exactly what role that would be.
