Ruben Van Gucht married to high jumper Blanka Vlasic, couple expecting son

Vlasic collected four world titles (2007, 2009 outdoor, 2008, 2010 indoor) and one European title (2010). She narrowly missed gold twice at the Olympics. In 2008, Tia Hellebaut kept her from the Olympic title (Vlasic needed one more attempt at 2m05) and in 2016 she had to settle for bronze, although she had again gone over the same height as the winner.

With her personal best of 2m08 she approached the world record set by Bulgarian Stefka Kostadinova in 1987 to within one centimeter. In February last year she announced the end of her sports career.

Ruben Van Gucht was married to entrepreneur Laurence Van Tongerloo for seven years. In October last year, the couple announced on Instagram that they were divorcing.
