Viva Sales: meeting of CRM, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365

Microsoft hands sellers a new tool: Viva Sales. As of October 3, all novelties will be generally available.

As with Microsoft Viva, there is also a well-being aspect to the entire platform with Viva Sales. However, because the focus is really on sellers, there are more options. The platform complements the possibilities with a customer relationship management (CRM) system and integrates it into Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams.

In other words, Microsoft promises to offer all facets that a seller needs in one central place. Entering manual CRM updates is also a thing of the past. This saves time on the digital side and gives sellers time to physically connect with customers again.

Intruder in the CRM market?

The capabilities should let sellers close a deal from start to finish. This was previously not possible in Teams or other Microsoft 365 products, forcing companies in sales to use a platform from another provider. Popular in the merchant market is Salesforce.

Is Microsoft now coming to steal customers from this CRM specialist’s platform? That doesn’t seem to be the case. Viva Sales integrates in both Dynamics 365 and Salesforce CRM. The arrival of a large tech giant to the market is less good news for other providers of CRM solutions.

Automate

What Viva Sales promises to bring are time-saving solutions. It does this through automation: CRM data is automatically populated from Teams and Outlook information. Outlook emails can be loaded directly into CRM, including Salesforce CRM.

Colleagues can also view these contacts in Teams and Outlook. This helps sellers to quickly obtain the correct contact details.

Another handy tool you can use when you set up a video meeting with a customer. Using AI, Sales Conversation Intelligence (SCI) will then summarize the conversation, as well as explore customer feelings and recommend follow-up conversations.

To collaborate

Finally, there is an opportunity to share insights from newly arrived deals, but also from customers who have left. There Microsoft shows again that Viva Sales has something to do with Microsoft Viva. On that platform, it is very much about communication between colleagues, but also between colleagues and business leaders.

A collaboration with Seismic is in line with this strategy. Seismic Enablement Cloud will bring together the insights from Viva Sales to create recommendations and training for sellers.

Viva Sales will be generally available October 3rd. More information about the platform can be found here.
