SilverStone has completed its range of housings with the Fara 311, a 27 liter micro ATX model without too many bells and whistles. In addition to steel side panels, there is mesh in the front and a 5.25-inch drive bay, a feature that is less and less common these days.
In addition to motherboards with the micro-atx and itx format, there is room for processor coolers with a height of up to 15.6 centimeters, graphics cards may be a maximum of 35.4 cm in length. The power supply is placed at the top and must be shorter than 14 cm so as not to overlap with the cables of an installed disk reader or other device.
The 5.25-inch drive bay can also be used to accommodate more storage (3.5/2.5 inches). At the bottom of this bay there is a bracket for an extra 3.5-inch HDD, which can be removed to mount a radiator. A 2.5-inch SSD fits at the bottom next to the motherboard tray, while users can place a 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drive on the bottom of the case.
In terms of cooling, up to two 140mm fans can be installed in the front, a 120mm one is built in at the rear. Compatibility with radiators is rather limited: up to 240 millimeters is supported at the front, followed by 120 mm at the rear. Finally, the I/O consists of a 3.5mm combo rack, as well as two USB 3.0 type-a ports and a single 2.0 connector.
