Law student Milla pleads for girl power in Miss Fashion pageant (Left Bank)

Milla Goethals (18), who lives on Linkeroever, will appear in Ghent in October in the final of Miss Fashion 2023. The law student makes a fervent plea for girl power, to strengthen each other as ladies.

For Milla it is the very first experience in the world of masses and she likes that. “I befriended Janice who became first lady of honor last year. When calling for new candidates, she sent me a message whether it wouldn’t be for me either,” says Milla.

“I thought why not. I really want to broaden my circle and get to know other young women that I would never have met otherwise. ‘When women support each other, incredible things happen’ is one of the sayings I live by. Miss Fashion’s vision that every girl can get the best out of herself fits in perfectly with this. That was exactly what appealed to me in this election.”

“It is very nice to see each other and grow together in this adventure. I therefore hope to be able to inspire the outside world, especially young girls, to help each other to the top instead of pushing each other down.”

“Furthermore, with my participation I hope to be able to erase the stereotypical image that a miss is just a pretty face without content. Missing is much more than just the outside.”

“Of course, like all the other girls, I hope to go home with the crown and I will work hard for it, but Miss Fashion offers many other opportunities. Various titles are awarded whereby you can also represent Miss Fashion internationally. I secretly dream of that too. It’s a very different world than I’m used to, but it’s all very nice to do, maybe there will be other elections.”
