Belgian video game ‘Baldur’s Gate 3’ dominates Game Awards nominations

‘Baldur’s gate 3’, a video game from Larian Studios in Ghent, has been nominated for video game of the year at the Game Awards, the Oscars of the gaming sector. The game received a total of eight nominations.

Best game of the year, best story, best music and so on: Baldur’s gate 3 receives no fewer than eight nominations at the Game Awards 2023, also known as the Oscars of the gaming world. It will probably be a neck-and-neck race at the awards ceremony on December 7 Alan Wake 2which is just like Baldur’s gate 3 received eight nominations.

Baldur’s gate 3 is a role-playing game set in a medieval-inspired fantasy world calledThe forgotten realms. Won last week Baldur’s gate 3 already won the award for best game of the year at the Golden Joystick Awards, and Larian Studios won the award for best game studio.

Larian Studios announced four years ago that it was launching a new game in the celebrated series, about twenty years after the previous installment Baldur’s gateseries would make. The Ghent game studio, which was founded in 1996, had been steadily working on an oeuvre for more than two decades under the collective name Divinity: games from various genres that took place in the same, self-invented fantasy universe. The Ghent studio is now one of the world’s best in the gaming sector.
