Out of sight, but not out of mind.

On social media, Anderlecht today said goodbye to Jean Kindermans, the man who has been at the head of the Brussels youth academy since 2006. Kindermans will leave for national champion Antwerp in the middle of next year.

The message immediately received a lot of reaction on Instagram, including from Romelu Lukaku, who was clearly affected by the news.

“Your vision gave us the opportunity to become the players we are today… And Club Anderlecht and the Red Devils still benefit from it to this day! This is a black page in the club’s history, because this man is Anderlecht through and through. Thank you for everything, boss“, it sounds sharp from the striker who knew Kindermans from his time in Neerpede.

Lukaku is just one of many trained by Kindermans. Jeremy Doku also responded with “thanks for everything” and Romeo Lavia added clapping hands under the message.

At RSC Anderlecht, Peter Verbeke (Academy Head of Talent & Innovation), Henk Mariman (Academy Head of Football) and the Dane Mikkel Hemmersam (Academy Director) will take over the management of the youth academy, the club announced in a press release on Friday afternoon.
