Thompson previously claimed that a judge gave him custody of the child and refused to open the door to officers. The man ordered the child not to make a sound when the officers were present, but eventually showed them where the child was hidden, in a tiny space behind a shelf in his closet.
Thompson, who was out on bond at the time on a drug charge for crystal meth, was arrested for confinement and endangering a child. The terrified child was transferred unharmed to foster care. It is not clear what the exact bond between the child and Thompson is.
