Rockstar Games, a division of Take-Two Interactive Software, plans to announce the next highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI game possibly as soon as this week, sources say. Bloomberg. Its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto V, was the second best-selling video game ever, after this one.
Fans of the well-known video game series Grand Theft Auto have been looking forward to Grand Theft Auto VI for a long time. The game could become one of the most important entertainment releases of the decade. Its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto V, sold more than 185 million copies and is the second best-selling video game of all time, behind Minecraft.
After officially announcing the arrival of GTA VI, Take-Two also plans to release a trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI next month to celebrate Rockstar’s 25th anniversary, Bloomberg’s sources said. A Rockstar spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Hack
Rockstar has been working to improve its corporate culture and work-life balance in recent years. That happened after employees complained about burnouts during the development of their last game, 2018’s Red Dead Redemption 2.
Last year, hackers leaked hours of early footage from Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar acknowledged the footage, but said it wants to “properly introduce gamers to the next game at the best time.” Two British teenagers were convicted of the hack in a London criminal trial earlier this year.
Take-Two will announce its quarterly results on Wednesday.
