Antwerp took over Senne Lammens last summer on a free transfer from Club Brugge, where he had been training since 2014. As a 16-year-old, he first joined the first team selection for the Champions League match against Atletico Madrid in October 2018.
It would take another 3 years before he would make his debut for the A-team: in July 2021, Lammens replaced the injured Simon Mignolet in the Supercup against Genk (3-2 win). A week later he was also in goal in the competition. He played 1 more time in the cup and 1 time in the JPL that season.
Last season he only played for Club at Club NXT in the Challenger Pro League. This summer he switched to champion Antwerp.
There he got his first taste of the real thing in the cup last week. Lierse K. scored 1-4. And tonight will be his debut at the highest level in Europe.
Europe knows Lammens from a heroic goal in the Youth League of 2019-2020. Club Brugge’s U19s needed a point at home against Real Madrid to advance. In the 95th minute they were still 1-2 behind, but then the goalkeeper who had advanced struck with a corner from Maxim De Cuyper.
