In the Seefhoek district in Antwerp North, a total of six cars were damaged in car fires at three locations during the night from Monday to Tuesday. This is according to the local police, who assume foul play. At least three vehicles burned out.
The first report of a suspicious car fire happened around 3:45 am. Near Elisabeth premetro station, a fire appeared to have been started in one or two cars on the corner of Delinstraat and Sint-Elisabethstraat. The fire spread to several other vehicles. Ultimately, three cars burned out completely and a fourth suffered damage.
Around 6 am, car fires were also reported in Gasstraat and Korte Van Sterbeeckstraat, in the same area. One car was the target at a time.

The police have started an investigation and the forensic laboratory was called to the scene. Based on these findings, among other things, it will become clear whether there is a connection between the three facts. According to Gazet Van Antwerpen the police have set up a perimeter and are investigating ‘all avenues’. Malicious intent is assumed.
