When Van den Brande was asked whether, despite the many problems of recent months, there were also good things in his life at the moment, he said that he had bought a ring for his girlfriend, after which a fragment of ‘The sky is the limit’, which will be broadcast on Friday, was briefly shown. It showed how he gave his girlfriend Sofie a ring of no less than 2.1 carats.

But he had not yet asked Sofie to marry him. “Because I had to divorce my wife first,” he said. When he clarified that that was actually already okay, Gert Verhulst indicated that it was the ideal time to ask Sofie to marry him.
Encouraged by the audience and the guests present, he decided to take his Sofie from the audience. But it wasn’t Michel who got down on one knee. “I have knee problems,” he said. After which Sofie got down on one knee, he asked the question and they then kissed.
