‘Something’s cooking in Dessel’, with this teaser Graspop Metal Meeting made many metal hearts burn yesterday. The festival organization rewards Belgian metal fans for their patience. For the first time in his almost 35-year career, Tool will finally headline the largest metal festival in the Benelux. Not that Maynard James Keenan is unknown to Desselse Stenehei. The illustrious frontman, wine grower and philanthropist closed the festival in 2018 with A Perfect Circle. Tool, on the other hand, is a different matter. People are still talking about the set at Rock Werchter 2019 and last year’s Sportpaleis show. Next year the band will close the first day of the Graspop festival (June 20). Rumors are now also going around that Tool is working on the successor to Fear Inocolum. Not that the American rock and metal group necessarily needs new music to set festival grounds on fire. The 27th Graspop edition promises to be a great party.
Graspop Metal Meeting 2024 will take place next year from Thursday 20 to Sunday 23 June. Tickets go on sale from November 25. More information can be found on the website.
