As of this week, Marvel’s newest acquisition, Thor: Love and Thunder, is available to watch on Disney+ after a theatrical run that grossed over $750 million in total.

Chris Hemsworth’s fourth thunder god adventure takes us to eternity where all known gods converge, including the oldest god Zeus (Russell Crowe). It even featured Black Panther goddess Bastet.

Now it turns out that the film almost featured one of the most talked about figures in history. In a recent interview with BBC Radio 1, director Taika Waititi and ‘Valkyrie’ actress Tessa Thompson revealed that Jesus Christ had almost appeared.

Too big risk
During the scene on Eternity, we could have had a brief appearance from the Son of God and Waititi and Thompson explained that this almost happened: “There would be a middle ground for you-know-who. The big J, god of carpentry”.

The cameo was likely rejected due to potentially offensive religious beliefs due to the film’s comedic nature. It probably would have been hilarious, but the “smile and go” days of Monthy Python’s Life of Brian are sadly over.
