The Multiverse Saga of the Marvel Cinematic Universe finds itself in trouble in an unexpected yet big way.
Marvel Studios announced its plans for Phases 5 and 6 at San Diego Comic-Con. It is clear that they want to make many films and series, and that this saga will soon conclude with two (!) Avengers films. But the plans may seem a little too big.
Lots of news
The projects are all expected to be released in theaters or on Disney+ within the next 2.5 years. So for now there is no shortage of MCU content. But is that good news for the entertainment industry? That’s really the question.
According to some sources, VFX experts don’t like the idea that Marvel Studios wants to realize all these projects in the next 2.5 years. The workload is only growing and it only seems to be increasing for the foreseeable future.
The MCU, with its big stories, needs more and more when it comes to VFX. But Marvel Studios’ reputation is certainly not a good one and that may make it more difficult to get high-quality work.
Marvel Studios has been getting a lot of criticism lately. VFX makers would suffer from burnouts and apparently find Marvel Studios an annoying client. Deadlines are tight, plans change until the very last minute and things are sometimes not communicated well.
As far as the Multiverse Saga is concerned, the studio does have a problem, given the pace at which they want to release projects.
