Although it’s only six weeks away from the film’s release, filmmaker David Gordon Green has revealed that he hasn’t quite decided on the ending of Halloween Ends.

Green recently spoke with Empire and discussed how far along the film is in the post-production process. The film serves as both a conclusion to his trilogy, of Blumhouse’s involvement and Jamie Lee Curtis’ final appearance as Laurie Strode.

No end to Halloween yet
As a result, he’s still tweaking those final moments in the film to make sure it’s just right, as there’s plenty of pressure to get it right:

“It changes every day. In theory the movie is done, but this morning I called the editor and said, ‘What if we did this one thing…

I regularly talk about it with John [Carpenter] and Jamie Lee Curtis. It is exciting, uncertain, satisfying and sad. I’ve enjoyed these movies, but it’s probably time to step up. I think we’ll go out with a bang.”

If he has to compare part three with the previous two films, he says: “If our second film was a massive violent chaos, this one is a more intimate, atmospheric conclusion.”

Halloween Ends will hit theaters around October 14.
