‘Lord of the Rings’ Reveals First Image of Supreme Villain Morgoth, Master of Sauron!

Amazon series Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power starts with a big info dump. And immediately introduces us to JRR Tolkien’s greatest villain in all of Middle-earth: Morgoth.

In this article, we have the first look at the entire franchise (if you count Peter Jackson’s films that are not related to the Prime Video series, that is). Morgoth turns out to look quite dangerous and is reminiscent of Sauron in appearance.

Who was Morgoth?
Morgoth is one of the gods created by the creator god Eru Ilúvatar, a Valar. However, he was jealous, wanted to be able to create living beings himself and that desire soon turned into hatred. He was arrogant, and started a war against the other Valar. A war so fierce that entire countries were swallowed by the sea.

The war against Morgoth nearly destroyed all of Middle-earth, but as Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power shows, of course the elves, humans, dwarves, Harfoots and more creatures survived.

Sauron, who is the main villain of the series, has only been a servant to Morgoth. You see him below, the supreme enemy, who was banished to eternity:
