Not only will there be a video game of the popular animated series ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’, but also a live-action remake in the form of a series! And Netflix has now released a teaser for it.

Millennials grew up with the animated series “Avatar: The Last Airbender” that aired on Nickelodeon. For many it is nostalgia. In the meantime, you can rewatch the episodes of the three seasons via Netflix, but for those who want more there is good news. A live-action remake of the series is coming to the streaming service!

Water. Soil. Firework. Sky. The four nations once lived in harmony with the Avatar, the master of the four elements. But everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked and wiped out the Air Nomads, taking the first step toward conquering the world. But hope comes to the land when Aang, a young Air Nomad and the last of his kind, reawakens to take his place as the next Avatar.

With his new friends Sokka and Katara, brother and sister and members of the Southern Water Tribe, Aang embarks on an adventure to fight the Fire Lord Ozai and save the world. But Crown Prince Zuko is determined to capture them, making it an even more difficult task. Fortunately, they can count on the help of the many allies and colorful characters they encounter along the way.

Aang is played by Gordon Cormier (“The Stand”). Ian Ousley (’13 Reasons Why’) takes on the role of Sokka and Katara is played by Kiawentiio (‘Anne’). Daniel Dae Kim (“Lost”) is Fire Lord Ozai and Dallas Liu (“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”) plays Crown Prince Zuko.

In the teaser below we get a preview of the series and it promises very well. Appa doesn’t immediately appear in the picture, so we feared it for a moment, but the cute bison certainly plays a role! And Appa is just as cute as in the animated series!

‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ can be streamed via Netflix from February 22, 2024.
