There have been quite a few Spider-Man movies. Toby Maguire was the first. After him, Andrew Garfield took over The Amazing Spider Man. However, it only amounted to 2 films, but that is also because Marvel convinced Sony not to make a third blockbuster.

The Sam Raimi trilogy with Maguire was a great success. Not only were the films well received, the blockbusters also did well at the box office. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of The Amazing Spider Manfilms by director Marc Webb.

Fuses
After the two films were not well received, none other than Kevin Feige himself decided to have a conversation with Sony. His objective: to ensure that the studio would not make a third part, but that Marvel could get to work on Spider-Man.

For example, Feige says:I said this: ‘The only way we can do it is if we do everything. So why don’t you let us make a movie. Let’s not talk about rights and money. Just hire us to make the movie.”

Good luck
Feige continued: “You have to think of it like what DC did with Christopher Nolan. I’m not saying we’re Nolan, but that there is a studio out there that knows how to do this well. All you have to do is hire us and we will do the rest“.

Although Sony boss Amy Pascal was initially furious with Feige’s proposal, the rights eventually ended up back with Marvel. Still, some fans hope Garfield returns. He was the big trendsetter in Marvels Spider-Man: No Way Home.
