Oops! Intern accidentally reveals long-awaited release date of ‘Shrek 5’ | Instagram HLN

Although it was already known that DreamWorks was working on a new ‘Shrek’ film, no one knew when the film would be released. Chris Meledandri, founder and CEO of animation studio Illumination, told trade magazine ‘Variety’ in April that a new film was being worked on, but not many details were known.

The NBCUniversal intern posted on her LinkedIn profile the achievements she had during her internship period. One of the projects she worked on was ‘Shrek 5’. “DreamWorks Animation 2025″, with that little sentence she revealed that the film will indeed be released in 2025. She immediately deleted the message, but the damage had already been done. Several screenshots are circulating on the internet.

The first ‘Shrek’ film premiered in 2001 and tells the story of the green swamp monster Shrek (voiced by Mike Meyers) who must rescue Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) from her high tower. Along the way he befriends the donkey Donkey (Eddie Murphy). A total of four films have been made about Shrek, the last of which was released in 2010. There were also two spin-offs and a series about Puss in Boots (Puss in Boots, voiced by Antonio Banderas).
