This excellent sci-fi thriller by director Blomkamp can be seen on Netflix and is one of his best films

Movie news – With a score of 7.9/10 on the IMDb site, we can certainly say that the sci-fi thriller ‘District 9’ is a welcome film.

District 9 is from the year 2009 and was nominated for four Oscars, including best film of the year. So definitely watch the film on Netflix.

The film is by director Neill Blomkamp, also known for the films Gran Turismo and Elysium. The film’s producer was Peter Jackson, the man behind, among other things, the Lord of the Rings-trilogy.

Most wanted man

In the year 1982 we see how the Earth is discovered by aliens. They are housed in the ghettos of Johannesburg where prostitution and drug trafficking are the main source of everything.

An employee of the MNU, who monitors the situation of the aliens, sees how they are being treated and decides to take action. However, he contracts an alien virus that makes him the most wanted and sought after man in the world.

Beautiful effects, funny and exciting

With a score of 3.57/5 at MovieMeter, the film is also doing well there. Viewer Shadowed talks about the film, “Great action, beautiful effects and reasonable acting, this film has it. Highly recommended for Science Fiction fans.”

One of the critics on the Rotten Tomatoes site says, “Blomkamp doesn’t miss a step. His film is cynical, funny, smart, exciting and satirical – all without losing his audience’s involvement in the screenplay.” The film scores an average of 86% there.
