The Searchers have released the first trailer for the film One Life by director James Hawes. In the war film, Anthony Hopkins plays the leading role and we watch the life of British humanitarian Nicholas Winton (1909-2015) who saved many children from the Germans.

Alongside Sir Anthony Hopkins (The Two Popes, The Father) you will also see roles for Johnny Flynn, as the younger Nicholas, Helena Bonham Carter and Jonathan Pryce, among others.

WWII
OneLife tells the true story of Sir Nicholas Winton, whose efforts saved more than six hundred children from the Nazis on the eve of the Second World War. For years he and a number of friends worked to bring the children safely to the United Kingdom.

In the United Kingdom they were often adopted by British families. Fifty years later, in 1988, Nicholas blames himself for not doing enough to save all the children.

BBC
Not until the BBC programme That’s Life! invites him to appear on their program, something happens that causes him to finally begin to come to terms with the guilt and sadness he’s carried with him for five decades.

OneLife is scheduled to be released in Dutch cinemas from January 4.
