The series has been up since last Friday Ferry: The Series on Netflix and it immediately took the lead in the Netflix Top 10 with series. The return of Mr Bouman ensures that his film is popular again on the streamer. The film returns to number 8 in the Netflix Top 10 for films.
Ferry from 2021 was directed by Cecilia Verheyden (Robyn O.) and is described by Netflix with words like “exciting, thriller” and “drug lord”. You will see roles played by Frank Lammers, Elise Schaap and Huub Stapel, among others.
Highly received
Just like the series Undercover the prequel film was highly received. It’s on MovieMeter Ferry at a 3.4/5 and the IMDb scores a decent 7.0/10 after twelve thousand votes. FilmTotaal critic Tom van der Krieke gave no less four stars:
“The prequel turns out to be one of the better crime films from Dutch soil, precisely because it remains local and the emphasis is not too much on imitating American gangster films,” said Van der Krieke.
