Basalte from Merelbeke in East Flanders, a developer and producer of high-end technologies for luxury homes, is joining forces with the German investment fund EMH Partners. The private equity group from Munich, with 1 billion euros under its management, is acquiring a significant minority stake in Basalte and will help the company grow internationally. Founders and owners Klaas Arnout and Sandra Maes will continue to lead the company.

In Belgium, the name Basalte does not ring a bell with few people, but the company from Merelbeke is no stranger to the world of Arab sheiks, royal families, wealthy entrepreneurs and top architects. Basalte scores well with its extremely intuitive and minimalistic designed control system for smart homes with which you can centrally control lighting, blinds, climate control, music or security in your home. The design, development and assembly of all products take place at the Merelbeke site. All workshops with which we work together for the delivery of materials such as bronze, aluminum or nickel are also located in Belgium.
