It looks like the GP of Belgium will not take place on July 23, 2023, but that the race on the circuit of Spa-Francorchamps will change with the GP of Hungary.
After it was officially announced earlier that the GP of Belgium will be on the F1 calendar again next year, it was only a matter of time before the race would continue. A leaked version of the F1 calendar 2023 showed that the Belgian GP would take place on July 23. But that seems to be changing now.
The date of July 23 was inconvenient for several reasons. For example, the Belgian GP would coincide with the weekend of the national holiday, Tomorrowland and also Francofolies, a festival of French-language music that takes place in Spa. From an organizational point of view, this would be an impossible task for the security services and the police.
But a solution seems to be in the works because, according to ‘Formula.hu’, the organizers of the Hungarian GP would have received a proposal to postpone the race from July 30 to July 23 so that the Belgian GP would be held on July 30. can take place. This would make the race at Spa-Francorchamps the last F1 race before the summer break.
In Hungary, this proposal was accepted, so that nothing would stand in the way of a substitution with Spa-Francorchamps. In the meantime, it remains to be seen for the final F1 calendar. It would be officially announced in the coming weeks.
