The city of Antwerp is looking for a company that wants to offer up to 125 extra shared cargo bikes. That is in addition to the 100, and eventually 125, Cargoroo shared cargo bikes that are already driving around the city. To ensure that the bicycles do not cause any inconvenience, additional drop zones are marked where the bicycles can be parked. This month, 22 drop zones will be added, in addition to the hundred already existing in Antwerp, Borgerhout and Deurne. The city will closely monitor the use of the zones. In case of a positive evaluation, they become final and receive an information board. “In this way, the shared cargo bikes are easy for everyone to find and leave behind, and once parked, they do not cause any nuisance,” says Alderman for Mobility, Koen Kennis (N-VA).
