It seems that the Swedish royal family will not be represented at the wedding of Princess Maria Laura of Belgium next Saturday. In Brussels, she says yes to her fiancé William Isvy.

The ceremony is attended by at least five hundred guests, including dignitaries and royal guests. King Carl Gustaf of Sweden and his wife Queen Silvia are certainly not among them, according to Svensk Damtidning magazine. The absence has to do with the jubilee celebration of Queen Margrethe of Denmark. This weekend will be celebrated in Copenhagen.

Because of the good ties between the royal houses of Sweden and Denmark, the royal couple chose to visit Copenhagen. Crown Princess Victoria is not going to Brussels, according to Svensk Damtidning. Prince Carl Philip also has no plans to travel to Belgium, the court informed the magazine when asked.

At the end of December, the Belgian court announced that Maria Louise, the second child and eldest daughter of Archduke Lorenz of Austria-Este and Princess Astrid of Belgium, will marry Isvy. In January, King Philippe gave permission for the marriage.
