More than 150 residents and family members celebrate the 40th anniversary of Residence Lindenhof with a large garden party. Especially for this occasion, seniors show that dancing is not age-related.

Residence Lindenhof is now part of the Armonea group and has 114 1-bedroom apartments, each with a terrace, kitchen and bathroom. About twenty apartments are occupied by owners, the largest group has a lease. Director Griet Schoutteten: “We actually blew out forty candles in February, but at that time it was not yet appropriate to organize a big party. Postponement was not an adjustment, because now we offer everyone a sun-drenched garden party.”

Around 1975 almost nothing had been built in the Zilverlindendreef. Only the house with the stepped gable was there then. Residentie Lindenhof arose on a piece of building land of more than 7000 m², located on the corner of Zilverlindendreef and Eikendreef. February 1, 1982 the building was officially opened. A service residence was a new residential concept in the region at the time.

“Where in the early years the focus was on grandeur and a chic appearance, Lindenhof is now open to everyone. The freedom that residents experience in combination with a wide range of various services convinces seniors. We offer a wide range of service services every day and that is also greatly appreciated,” explains director Griet Schoutteten.

The majority of the 114 apartments are rented out. Like most similar residences, Lindenhof is also struggling with vacancy. “It’s fine. There are currently about twenty flats that are vacant. About half of that is private.” Info: www.armonea.be (evdw)
