Princess Astrid and her husband Lorenz are looking forward to the wedding of their daughter Maria Laura. She married her partner William Isvy on September 10 in Brussels.
Princess Astrid says she understands her daughter’s choice: ‘William shows many similarities with Maria Laura’s father, Lorenz. And my daughter has always had a lot of admiration for her father,” Astrid stated Friday in the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula in the heart of Brussels, where the wedding will take place.
Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz say they are looking forward to the wedding. Their daughter, they said, insisted on getting married in Brussels, while she and her partner live and work in London. Family and friends are closely involved in the organization of the festivities, which is very important for Astrid and Lorenz. “The preparations are part of the party,” says the princess.
For their future son-in-law, the couple has nothing but praise. They call him brave, hardworking and sporty. According to them, he is firmly in his shoes and he has a good sense of humor. “He is like a son to us,” Astrid declared. “Almost,” Lorenz joked.
He mentioned that he first met William a year ago. That happened in Basel, Switzerland. “I immediately got on well with him,” said Lorenz.
The wedding will take place in the Brussels City Hall. Only the intimate circle will be present. In the afternoon, the wedding ceremony in the Cathedral of Saint Michael and Saint Gudula will be presided over by the Archbishop of Mechelen-Brussels Jozef de Kesel. A total of 500 people were invited to attend the wedding in the cathedral.
Maria Laura, 34, is the eldest daughter of Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz. She has lived and worked in London for years. Her fiancé William Isvy (30) was born in Paris and is the son of a British mother and a French-Moroccan father.
