CEO Geoffroy Gersdorff puts out his pawns: two experienced managers will join the executive committee of this month Carrefour Belgium strengthen.

Commercial and digital expertise

It seems that Geoffroy Gersdorff, the new general manager of Carrefour Belgium, is quickly working on a renewed management team to put the retailer back on growth course: today he announces two appointments.

The most notable newcomer is Frenchman Eddy Gendronneau, who has been with Carrefour France since 1995. He became commercial director of the supermarkets in 2016 and has held the same position at the hypermarkets since 2019. In Belgium, he will become commercial sales director from 19 September and join the executive committee.

The second newcomer is Matthieu Ullens, who will become director of e-commerce, data and digital transformation from September 15, and will also be a member of the executive committee. Ullens has a wealth of experience in the IT world and in retail: he worked successively at Boston Consulting Group, eBay, Vente-Exclusive.com, Van de Velde and Arvesta.
