“This offers the opportunity to prepare for a major tournament in a specific way, with a focus on the special interpretation of our time. Playing against an African opponent in a country in the Middle East satisfies all facets of our preparation in this regard,” said national coach Roberto Martinez. Four years ago, a friendly match against Egypt was played in the run-up to the World Cup. In the King Baudouin Stadium, they won 3-0, after goals from Romelu Lukaku, Eden Hazard and Marouane Fellaini.
