Turkish FC-Vlijtings, that will play the final on Sunday second provincial. The winner is promoted to first, the fate of the loser is in the hands of Koersel (if Weerstand is promoted through the interprovincial final round, the loser also rises).

“On Thursday, against RC Peer, we played our best first half of the season,” says Hüseyin Bilican, author of the opening goal of Turkish FC, which finished fifth in 2B. “We also have the ambition to go up.”

However, Turkish FC is struggling with injuries. For example, the Teker brothers are missing and some players are at their wits’ end. Bilican: “We showed a lot of character in the final round. Our team fought for every meter and was supported by a fantastic twelfth man. We have to give everything one more time against the strong Vlijtings with the support of our supporters.”

How often this opportunity?

“Based on our last season, we would certainly deserve this promotion,” says Vlijtingen coach Alain Peetermans. “We have already shown a lot of great things and remained in the running for the title against the strong Landen until the penultimate matchday. It will certainly be a tough one in Beringen on Sunday. Three years ago we played against Turkey in the final round. We won 3-0 at home, but in the second leg we fell behind 3-1. Then it was all hands on deck. In the end we won 3-4.”

“Whether the promotion wouldn’t come too early? In any case, we have not yet made any purchases for the first provincial, but promotions are not made to order. And how often do you as a player get the chance to rise in your career?”, concludes the ex-Canary.

Third and fourth

In third provincial Gravelo-Wiemismeer and Genk VV-Herk Sport are the finals. The two winners of these all-or-nothing matches advance, if there is a tie after ninety minutes, extra time and possibly penalties will follow. The last day of the losers’ final round is also scheduled here. But due to the double forfeit and the relegation of Achel VV B, nothing is at stake in Moelingen-Vechmaal.

In fourth provincial the Breugel-Bree-Beek B and Jong Meeuwen-Heusden 06 finals seem redundant. The quartet is normally already certain of promotion due to the defeat of Opglabbeek A and the fact that champion Opglabbeek B (4D) cannot progress to third.

In the interprovincial series Finally, Koersel draws in her semi-final Park killer Flemish Ardennes. It is not yet known exactly how many promotional tickets can be earned here.

Despite all this, we are going to give it our all one more time.” Haesevoets is suspended. Haex and Poell (both hamstring) are big question marks. Berten gets to the heart of the matter.
