AA Gent has to make do with the Europe Play-offs again this season. The Buffaloes got off to an excellent start by sending Standard back to Liège 5-1. Julien De Sart scored an unfortunate own goal.

However, the midfielder is having an excellent season and is one of Ghent’s strong points. De Sart has already made 43 appearances in all competitions. He scored 6 goals and also provided 3 assists. Here and there it is suggested that he be given a chance with the Red Devils. For the time being, however, he is still passed by Domenico Tedesco.

De Sart believes that current Devils are better

De Sart himself was allowed to join the French-language football program on Monday evening LaTribune. “I would like to be a Red Devil once in my career… but I don’t really regret it. The current players are better than me,” De Sart was honest about the matter.

However, Nordin Jbari believes that De Sart should have been there already. “Hans Vanaken, even though he was the Golden Boot, was in the selection for a long time. So De Sart could also have been in the selection at some point.”

Albert stands up for De Sart

Ex-Devil Philippe Albert also spoke up for De Sart. “If you look at the Devils’ performance in Ireland… The players who played were no better than him,” Albert said.

De Sart was already a promising international player for our country in the past, but he is still waiting for his debut with the big boys. Should he go abroad to have a better chance?
